a while ago sammy gave me some 15" kds monitors. the one hooked into my pc emits this really high pitched squeal when it's on. usually, i have iTunes loud enough to block it out, but not always. anyway, it is really annoying. i've been wanting to replace it, but i haven't managed to go forward with this.

many of my friends have purchased dell fp 2001 monitors, and enjoy them very much. there were even some sales, where you could save a couple hundred american dollars on them. sadly every time i try to navigate the dell online store, it ends with me slumped down in my chair, sobbing.

then, i go and look at the apple displays. sure, they are a few hundred dollars more, but isn't it worth it if i can actually get to the checkout page? but then i think, "hmm aren't new cinema displays supposed to be out soon?" and then i go look at rumor sites, and they all say they are coming out in a month.

a couple of weeks ago i ordered an airport express, because they are neat little things. i had my powermac hooked up to my big stereo speakers. i figured when the airport express arrived, i'd put that in the living room with the speakers. so, i needed some speakers for my mac.

i ordered some jbl creature 2s but when they arrived they didn't sound very good (compared to the klipsch speakers i have hooked up to the shuttle. i called to RMA, and asked if i could just take them over to the apple store sicne i wanted to ask what my options were. i tried connecting the headphone jack on the powermac to the extra line in on the klipsh volume thingie, but there was a lot of line noise. i couldn't connect it to the line out on the mac, because that is some special mac plug.

anyway, saturday i went over to the apple store. i figured i would just get a pci sound card with a standard line out, and plug that into the klipsch thing. sadly they didn't
